Forgotten Era British Championship - Cadwell Park - 14th & 15th July 2001

I have raced at Cadwell Park before, but I can't remember how long ago, however it's safe to say that it was a long time ago!

It was a two day meeting and over the weekend I rode fairly consistently with my lowest position being fourth and my highest second. At this meeting there was a couple of riders there who don't normally ride at the other rounds, with a lad on a big Kwaker like Mick Grant used to ride going particularly well, and I enjoyed the battles with him.

Lea cleaned up again, putting more points in between him and myself,  and I suppose it's fair to say the Championship is his. My aim now is to hold onto second and try and snatch a couple of wins before the end of the year. Lea was beaten for only the second time this year at Caldwell's o at least it proves he is not unbeatable.

So all in all another good weekend, but the win still eludes me. I had a nice surprise when I got home to find out that I had been awarded the Bikesport News Man of the Meeting Award for the second time this year, and that I had set the fastest lap of the day in our class.

Now if I could just get the thing to stop, we might be getting somewhere!!!
