British Forgotten Era Championship Rounds 5 & 6 - Mallory Park

Once again I was visiting a circuit for the first time for rounds five and six of the British Championship. Looking at the circuit it was pretty quick, so the RG should be OK here.

Practice went well enough - pretty uneventful really. I was just trying really hard to take the circuit in and get on the pace with the rest of these short circuit scratchers.

In the first race, I finished third place, which at the time, I was quite disappointed with. All I could put it down to, was riding too cautiously, and perhaps a bit more aggression in the second race would remedy things. However when I got in, I found out that Gourlay had only finished second, which meant that he hadn't pulled too much on my in the Championship, and that he could be beaten.

In the second race I really felt on it, and after the first couple of laps of shuffling, I got up into second right on Gourlay's arse. We had a right old battle, setting a fastest lap of the day, which was identical to each others. On the penultimate lap, I was lining him up coming out of the Bus Stop chicane, but the back tyre gave way. Only a little bit mind you, but it was enough to give Lea a seconds worth of a gap on me, and I had to settle for second place again.

We are getting there and I'm sure that our first win of the Championship is not too far away.
